Foster Parents

In the State of Indiana, a Foster Parents are State- or county-licensed adults who provide a temporary home and everyday nurturing and support for children who have been removed from their homes.  Foster/adoptive parent, foster parent, and relative or kinship caregiver are other terms used to describe the similarly situated persons that act as foster parents but that may not require the same level of training as a foster parent.

Being a Foster Parent is one of the noblest acts a person or family provide to any child.  Fostering provides protection and stability for children that otherwise cannot be provided by their parents.  Fostering to adopt is a selfless act that provides a child with the permanency that every child deserves.
